Steps Suggested time
Break down the task for participants to learn into steps. 5–10 minutes
Write 3 prompts for examples of performing the task, with small increases in complexity. 10–15 minutes
Prepare the most complex prompt as a challenge for participants to perform independently or in pairs. 15–20 minutes
Prepare the medium-complexity prompt as a guided example that you will facilitate as the whole group performs it with you, including checks for understanding. 20–40 minutes
Prepare the least complex prompt as a demonstration. 15–20 minutes
Plan an opening hook and closing check for understanding for the lesson. 10–15 minutes
