How to do it

Enter the space drawing little attention to yourself if possible; don’t disrupt the flow of class. | 1–2 minutes |
As you observe, record what you notice the students and teacher(s) are doing, saying, writing, drawing, and showing; stick to the facts. | 20–30 minutes |
Keep a running list of things that are going well, and things that could be improved. | 5–10 minutes |
Write down any in-the-moment questions that come to your mind. | 5–10 minutes |
After 30–45 minutes, find a good time to leave without causing disruption. | 1–2 minutes |
